You might try my solution, The Coffee Party. I vote ofr the person not the party. In fact in the most recent election I only voted for one Republican. For the record my back ground is from a family of more or less T.R. and Rockefeller Republicans. Meaning at the moment neither major party gives a tinker's damn what I think, until it's time to go to the polls.
